Born in the country of Georgia, Irma grew up surrounded by generations of pianists, destined to become one herself. From her first concert at age six, she was in the spotlight, making performance her lifestyle and identity.

Her early promise led her to the Kutaisi College of Music at 13, and by 16, she was invited to study at the Saint – Maur National Conservatory in France.  Irma’s educational journey continued at the Brussels Royal Conservatory, Indiana University, and Michigan State University. She had the privilege of studying under world-renowned artists such as Evgueny Moguilevsky and Alexander Toradze.

Irma has toured extensively through Europe and the United States, performing at prestigious festivals such as the Ruhr Piano Festival, Ravenna Festival, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Gulbenkian Festival, and Salzburg Festival, as well as appearing in numerous documentaries and TV interviews.

Alongside her rich experience as a performer, Irma found passion within another life-long journey of hers: The art of teaching. Taking her first steps in this role under her mother’s guidance, at age 13, she learned to utilize her background in the spotlight to help her students veritably shine. Her approach is designed to inspire and empower students, helping them achieve their musical goals while enjoying the journey.

In 2009, tragedy struck – and Irma’s world was flipped upside down. A hand injury due to extensive touring ripped her life as a performer away from her, and her  identity, everything she had known herself to be, was wiped clean. She began to find her talents in other areas, co-founding successful businesses in finance and education and creating platforms for artists to reach a wider audience. In 2017, she embarked on an adventurous chapter of her life, living on a boat in the Pacific Ocean. All these experiences  led Irma to connect to herself not just as a performer, but also as an entrepreneur and trailblazer. After a 13 year break from music performance,  Irma made a triumphant return to the stage, performing with world-famous violinist Laurent Korcia.

Her journey has been one of resilience and reinvention, giving her a unique perspective on music and performance.
